Teen Flat Weft FAQs

What is the difference between Teen Flat Weft and Kashmir Flat Weft with Kashmir Hair?

The main difference lies in the type of hair used and the target market for each product. Teen Flat Weft is made from premium, pre-colored Indian hair and is designed as a more economical option for those new to hair extensions or looking for budget-friendly choices. In contrast, Kashmir Flat Weft with Kashmir Hair uses high-end Russian virgin hair, catering to clients seeking the pinnacle of luxury and longevity in their hair extensions.

Are Teen Flat Wefts made with Kashmir Hair?

No, Teen Flat Wefts are made from premium, pre-colored Indian hair.

Are Teen Flat Wefts silicone-free like the Kashmir Flat Wefts?

Yes, Teen Flat Wefts are also made without silicone, ensuring the hair maintains its natural texture and sheen without the need for synthetic enhancers.

Which line should I choose for my salon?

The choice between Teen Flat Weft and Kashmir Flat Weft should be guided by your client base and their needs. If your clients are looking for luxury and the finest hair quality, Kashmir Flat Weft is ideal. However, if your clientele is more price-sensitive or new to extensions, Teen Flat Weft provides an excellent introduction to high-quality extensions without the premium price.

Kashmir Hair FAQs

Do I need to practice a specific extension application method to use Kashmir Hair?

No, Kashmir Hair is inclusive of all methods.

Do you provide or sell a swatch ring?

No, because every item is a natural color and we provide very detailed videos and/or hair color comparisons for each item.

Do you process returns or exchanges?

Due to the rarity and virgin state, Kashmir Hair cannot be returned or exchanged. Upon purchasing, the distributor agrees that from the time of purchase there are no refunds and no returns. All sales are final.

What happens if I highlight the hair and it doesn't lift?

Before highlighting any Kashmir Flat Wefts, we recommend you watch the Highlight Training here to understand best practices to ensure the best outcome for your Kashmir Flat Wefts.

Highlight TEST wefts must ALWAYS undergo a test strand before highlighting.
If your wefts are labeled as “Highlight TEST” please understand that a test strand must be conducted before any highlighting is done in order to know the nature of the wefts.

“Highlight TEST” wefts are always priced lower due to their history of potentially being colored in their lifetime prior to being cut and sold.

We always recommend testing a small sliver on the edge of your wefts with 1-2 different options of developer choices with no heat. After assessing your test strand, you will better understand the potential lift of your wefts without damage, and the proper developer choices for each zone of the hair strand.
Highlight NO wefts usually need a higher developer choice (20-30 volume) depending on the lightener brand.

If your wefts are labeled a “Highlight YES” this is considered the highest quality and most premium hair available. A test strand is still recommended, although “Highlight YES” will usually always lift easily and quickly with very low developer choices. When highlighting “Highlight YES” wefts check them often while processing and use extreme caution with heat so avoid lifting them too light and getting damage/breakage.

But what about red hair?

All hair sold by Kashmir is in a virgin-like state. This means the hair has flexibility, unlike processed factory hair, to be potentially lifted with lightening and, even in some cases, color. While sourcing red virgin hair is possible, it is not recommended for a client that does not naturally have red hair. This is due to the unnecessary cost to source such rare hair colors.

An alternate, and possibly more ideal/cost friendly option, would be to source hair that is the most similar level and undertone of your guests natural hair. Then coloring that hair with a similar route formula as your client. It is always recommended to use a test strand, or several, on a very small piece of the hair in order to understand the receptiveness of each unique weft's ability to accept lightening and coloring formulations.

Kashmir Hair cannot be held responsible for any damage or misinformation done to the hair after the time of purchase.

What are the best color line(s) to use on Kashmir Hair?

It is important to choose hair color that preserves the longevity of the wefts. Using highly alkaline color (Permanent Color, Highlight, Lightener) or anything with high ammonia can easily break down the seam of the weft, and cause the glue/adhesive to break down faster than it should. Use caution when applying these types of hair colors to Kashmir wefts and keep them off of the seam of the wefts.

The safest hair color options to apply directly on the seam of the wefts are anything ammonia free and acidic based. Semi-Demi, or Demi-Permanent options are the most ideal options.

When coloring Kashmir Wefts darker, take into consideration its fine texture and adjust your formula accordingly. It will color differently than factory processed wefts, and your color formulas will most likely be closer to your clients own color formulas.

Kashmir Salon uses a lightener mixing ratio 2:1 for easiest saturation. For rooting and lowlighting they mainly use Shades EQ for a more gentle coverage, or a cream Demi-Permanent choice like Alfaparf Color Wear Cream Gloss with either 5 or 10 volume.

How do I lighten or darken a shade for a client?

Due to the fine texture of Russian hair, we always recommend using a Semi-Demi, or Demi-Permanent option when toning or coloring the hair darker.

Color level and processing time should also be adjusted, fine hair will always process faster and darker so watch your wefts while processing and always conduct a test strand when possible.

Can I use sunscreen with Kashmir Hair?

Kashmir Flat Wefts have not reacted to avobenzone, or any other active ingredients in sunscreens. Kashmir cannot be held responsible for any color changes or products applied to the hair after the time of purchase.

Can I swim in saltwater or chlorine?

Treat your Kashmir Flat Wefts as you would with your regular hair extension routine and long hair in general. Avoid salt water and chlorine if possible due to the harsh reaction it can cause to natural hair. If it’s not avoidable, before entering the water, brush the wefts thoroughly to get out any tangles or matting, and apply a conditioner and serum mixture to the hair to act as a barrier while doing water activities. Immediately upon exiting the water, rinse immediately with fresh water and then remove hair from any ponytails or braids and fully brush to ensure no tangles or matting.

NEVER enter water without properly brushing out all tangling and matting from the hair.

My wefts are too curly or fluffy, what do I do?

Kashmir Hair is always sold in an un-altered state. This means the natural textures are unique and different and have never been permed or chemically processed.

If you find your wefts are not easily manageable for your guest you may conduct a smoothing treatment like a brazilian blowout or similar product. This will relax the texture and fluff slightly enough to give your client a better washing and wearing experience.

All Kashmir Flat Wefts are sold in their air dried state with very light leave in serum-conditioner. Please observe their unique textures before purchasing to ensure a realistic and optimal experience for your guest.

For a typical one row install on medium density hair, how many wefts will I need of Kashmir Hair?

The best way to understand how many wefts you will need for your guest is knowing how many grams they are currently wearing or would need with the current hair brand you have been using.

Typically Kashmir Hair will require the same amount of grams worn, or less than a typical hair extension brand. All wefts will have a slight variance in weight, and each detail will be listed in the details of each collection item in the drop.

Typically Kashmir Hair should have a minimum of 2 wefts per row, and a maximum of 5-6 wefts per row. The average is 3-4 wefts per row.

Are they sold pre-cut or long bundle?

All Kashmir Flat Wefts are pre-cut to 10.5” wide. Each collection item will have a different amount of wefts included. The amount of wefts included in each collection are listed in the item description and details.

Is Russian virgin hair the best?

Russian hair is considered worldwide to be the most premium and rare hair to source. It is known for its incredibly lightweight texture. Furthermore, it’s known to be the most superior quality and holds integrity when left in its virgin and natural state.

All Kashmir Hair is sourced as much as possible from Single Donors, to keep the highest standard and consistency.

We take pride in our ethical sourcing practices, ensuring each extension reflects sustainable luxury and responsible beauty. Our donors are always fairly compensated for their donations to salons in Russia.

If the hair is virgin how can you offer consistent color options?

We search and source a full range of color, length, and texture options. Because each collection item is rare it will never be available again once it is sold.

We strive to source the most desirable levels and tones. If you see a collection item that matches what you are looking for it is important to purchase it because we cannot guarantee if and when we will have another item similar in the future.

How is it different?

Almost all hair extensions easily available and in stock are considered chemically processed and from either an Indian, or Chinese/Asian source. These coarser textures are an optimal choice when considering the harsh bleaching, dying, and chemical perming processing done to them.

Russian hair in general is considered to be a much finer and lightweight texture and can be found in all textures and wave patterns.

Kashmir Hair is different due to being single donor and never chemically processed with perming or containing added silicones and other treatments.

All the hair is left in its virgin state, which means the most optimal texture matching and the longevity of the wefts lasting 1x-3x more than any other hair on the market.

Do the seams color? I’ve seen other brands where the seam doesn’t blend after color.

All Kashmir Flat Wefts are assembled with a double reinforced glue adhesive at the top that is very flat but can withstand the lifespan of the hair.

The adhesive cannot be changed with hair color. Platinum Blonde wefts and Light Brown colors include a natural colored glue so it will easily blend into the hair without having to make any alterations.

Never use lightener, high lift, or permanent hair color at the seam of the wefts to ensure the wefts don’t prematurely break down.

How many grams come in a pack or is it individually?

Each collection item is unique in the amount of wefts, and grams per weft included. All wefts contain an average of 18g-28g per weft.
